I'v been selling on Ebay for the past 7 years and for a while they were the only game in town. With the exorbitant listing fees and lack of respect from the powers that be, many vintage sellers have packed up shop and moved elsewhere. One of the more recent success stories for the vintage clothing seller is the Etsy story. According the about page on Etsy:
"Etsy is an online marketplace for buying & selling all things handmade. Our mission is to enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers. Our vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice"
Well the good news for vintage lovers is that Etsy has opened the door to selling "vintage goods" this includes not only vintage clothing but any item tha falls within that category such as household items.
The long and short of it is this, since I have joined Etsy I have found it to be a more user friendly venue than that of Ebay. While I still have my Ebay account open, I have transitioned my inventory totally to
Etsy and my
freestanding website. The following are current items I have listed on Etsy:
The following items are also available from other sellers on Etsy:
The other advantage for buyers is that pricing seems to be a lot more reasonable. So if you have not had an opportunity to check out vintage on Etsy, you are definitely missing out on some great shopping opportunities. I have not even touched on the incredible handmade items. So just to wet your appetite I will leave you with some of the great handmade items available now on Etsy:
And so I hope I have given some food for thought, if not some great eye candy!

Anne Marie
